Thanks to its  idyllic location at 586 m above sea level and the three cozy holiday apartments,  the Obermoarhof is ideal for your holiday on the farm in South Tyrol all year round – both for families and for a couple. In summer, our swimming pool with sunbathing area and barbecue is a real highlight! As soon as it slowly cools down outside, our cozy wellness area with infrared cabin, hay bed and whirlpool invites you to relax.

Albeins is a small picturesque village about eight kilometers south of the cultural and former Bischhof town of Brixen. In the heart of the Eisack Valley, you will find everything you could wish for from an individual and nature-oriented holiday on the farm.

Apple and viticulture
in the Obermoarhof

Golden, Gala, Fuji, Kanzi … at the Obermoarhof the focus is on apples all year round.  On four hectares of land we grow different varieties and that means a lot of manual labor: from pruning the trees in the new year to  thinning the shoots in the spring and picking small apples in early summer to reduce the amount of harvest and increase the quality of the fruit. In autumn, the apple harvest arrives and finally, with the first glass of freshly squeezed apple juice, you know the work was worth it.

The three holiday apartments on our farm offer space for two to six guests to relax. The interior design made of spruce and larch wood radiates a warm living atmosphere, which is also underlined by the many small furnishing details. Farm holidays and poolside treats? No problem! In the Obermoarhof you can enjoy the water in our swimming pool or relax on the sunbathing lawn and enjoy the sun. If you look over the edge of the pool, you will also see the beauty of the Eisack Valley. Grill masters then hiss sausages, vegetables etc. on the grill provided by us in the evening.

From our fruit farm it is only a throw distance to the famous home mountain of Brixen – Plose. In summer, not only hikers experience wonderful days in the alpine dream landscape on Plose, but mountain bikers also find paradise here. Horseback riding and paragliding are other options. In winter, Plose is one of the hippest winter sports areas in all of South Tyrol. Experience a holiday on our holiday farm – the Obermoarhof in Albeins – that will make you completely happy.

HOLIDAYS AT THE OBERMOARHOF

In the Obermoarhof, where work and living has been going on since the 14th century, you can enjoy your holiday on the farm since 2006.   In the new building we combine the tradition with innovation, because the farmers already knew that the use of wood inside and outside creates warmth and well-being.

A look at the history
of the Obermoarhof

The history of the Obermoarhof dates back to the late middle Ages: in 1320 the name of the court was first mentioned in documents. The farm is therefore one of the four oldest farms in Albeins.  Until 1665, the Oberküchenmayr and the Unterküchenmayr formed a common courtyard. As the name suggests, they had to provide food and natural goods in the prince-bishop’s kitchen in Brixen.

In earlier times, the farmers had to work with what the farm provided: they kept animals, grew grain, fruits and vegetables in small quantities. Over time and with the advent of the modern economy, farmers began to specialize more and more. Thus it happened that the majority of Albeins farmers today live on fruit and viticulture.

In our wine cellar, relaxation on the farm and a piece of albeins history come together! Here you can end a special holiday day with a nice chat and a nice glass of homemade wine.

On request, your hostess Veronika will take you on a wonderful journey through the wine world for a wine tasting. You can also combine this with a guided farm and cellar tour. Weekly (by appointment) we organize various activities outside the farm building around the theme of wine, for example a wine tasting in the vineyard.
